Casa Castedo do Douro is a genuine Douro Valley family house, dating back to three generations of the Magalhães family. Several memories of these times persist in our minds: our inspiring and peaceful lounge was once the village school, where great-grandmother Maria taught the local children.
The garden and the various rows of vines planted in the yard gave place to a large private swimming pool and surrounding lawn, maintaining the pergolas of ancient vines, as well as some of the fruit trees of the time, such as the colorful cherry tree.
Inside the house, the lower floor was a cellar, where the wine produced by the patriarch grandfather Magalhães was stored over the years in wooden pipes, being today a pleasant space for leisure to enjoy with family and friends.
